LABTECH FOR sTEm TECH
AUTO, HVAC & ELECTRICAL

MODEL VTD-STM SERIES

Labtech’s Virtual  sTEm TECH interactive digital learning content is designed as self- paced topics that can be used by the teacher or student for independent learning (minimal teacher involvement). Our STEM program focuses on the Technology and Engineering aspect of STEM, this is why we write it as sTEm.  It introduces learners to the principles which underlie today’s technology, and shows how they are applied.  In many cases, the applications are related back to science and math.  This is quite different from other STEM programs that in often emphasize mostly Science and Math, in this case those programs might be spelled like SteM.  So, if you wish to infuse your existing STEM program with T & E or have a program that is Technology and Engineering oriented then this course may be the one for you.

The content can now be used online in the Labtech Academy (www.labtech-academy.com ) or be provided on either an Encrypted USB drive or run through a Learning Management System (LMS), which runs on any PC/Laptop/Tablet. This e-Learning software can be used for teaching technical topics related to sTEm TECH (Automotive, HVAC and Electrical Topics).

The virtual learning courses feature interactive animated 3D models of the technical item under study. This can be done in a realistic manner and featuring all the major system and subsystem components. The 3D models are realistic in detail, constructed layer by layer, and “assembled” in its animated format. All the 3D Models can be rotated to view from all sides.

There are over 700 Knowledge Objects consisting of Background Theory, Component Identification & Descriptions, Assembly & Disassembly, Component Animations, Functional Animations, Assessments - Reference, Identification, and Location, designed to match the different learning styles based on visual and kinaesthetic principles. sTEm TECH Fundamentals provides learners with a thorough understanding of the basic principles of Automotive, HVAC and Electrical components and the technologies behind those components. The content has been designed to meet international training standards (NOSS, TESDA etc.) and covers all the requirements that students need to be able to meet those standards.

The learning modules contain numerous activities to allow users to practice their understanding of the principles of the learning modules. This is supported by numerous assessment activities in a number of formats. Designed to work on individually, in teams or as part of classroom exercises or presentations.

The Labtech TVET LMS is a versatile platform that supports all contemporary modes of learning such as blended learning and flipping the classroom. It is a seamless multimedia SCORM compliant system and as such can easily be utilized within other LMS systems. It is has drag and drop capabilities along with bookmarking for creating classes and courses as well as groups. Complete assessment development is also available where students tests are delivered electronically, graded and recorded automatically with instant access. Different test question types are available like multiple choice, drag and drop, choose all or nay, true/false, matching, short answer and essay. Teachers can upload their own files to their organization's site. They can share this content with users within their organization or with all users globally - as they wish. The Labtech TVET system meets all SCORM compliant requirements for use in other LMS systems also.

Teachers have complete control over the content, assessment and grading scales. Teachers can modify and even design their own curriculum, modify Labtech content, and Import SCORM compliant modules for students to view. The Labtech TVET LMS content delivery system tracks individual student’s progress as they are guided through a technology rich curriculum, which enhances 21st Century Skill competency, in addition to ensuring students meet the required learning outcomes of the course. Reports can also be generated on class, school, district or national level.
